The Team Mission
The Mission
The goal of this team is to minister with the local church to the surrounding community living in poverty. We will do this through children's ministries, food programs, after-school tutoring, and other similar activities based on the current churches’ needs.
We will also focus on encouraging Bolivian believers. People living in extreme poverty often believe that they are not enough. Our goal will be to remind our Bolivian brothers and sisters that they have been made in the image of God with a purpose, they are dearly loved, and that they have inherent worth. Your presence will remind them that they are not alone.
As a result of joining us on our trip to Bolivia, we believe that you will also be transformed with increased faith, hope, and a closer walk with Jesus Christ.
Bolivia is the poorest country in South America. Our partner churches continually wrestle with the multifaceted challenges of dire poverty.
The Reality of Poverty in Bolivia
Dive into the stark realities faced by many Bolivians, where poverty and its consequences shape everyday lives.
Pervasive Poverty
In Bolivia, 60% of the population lives below the poverty line, with rural areas seeing as much as 75% grappling with severe economic challenges.
The Struggle for Survival
Many parents are engaged in informal work, such as laundering, cooking, or street vending, often leading to children being left alone and vulnerable.
Vulnerable Youth
With high rates of domestic violence and neglect, 80% of children, including girls and adolescents, face violence–60% physical, 30% psychological, and 4% sexual.
Substance Abuse and Violence
Drug and alcohol misuse are widespread among impoverished families, contributing significantly to domestic abuse and social instability.
About
Bright Hope
Bright Hope is committed to a holistic approach of serving the world’s extreme poor by working through local, in-country churches. For more than 50 years, Bright Hope Bright Hope has been providing holistic,
sustainable solutions to help struggling families break the poverty cycle permanently. We do this by empowering in-country churches to transform their communities through our three-pronged approach.
- Hope for Today programs meet immediate needs for food, clean water, and medical care.
- Hope for Tomorrow programs build incomes and skills through education, microfinance, and job training.
- Hope for Eternity programs equip in-country churches to share the love of Jesus in tangible ways through pastoral training, family empowerment, and evangelism.
