Abuse destroys a person from the inside out, confining victims to an existence of fear, despair, and loneliness. But it’s even more destructive when abuse comes from the hands of a parent—the one who should be safeguarding you from harm—not inflicting it.
For Lucas, a 10-year-old boy living in Riberalta, Bolivia, the onslaught of abuse came from his drug-addicted father and other unhinged family members.
And Lucas isn’t the only one! Due to unhealthy cultural views and limited legal recourse for mistreated children, child abuse in Bolivia happens a lot. But you can help provide protection and healing for these precious kids!
Check out these alarming statistics from Bolivia.
The Youth Care Project currently houses, protects, and educates ten vulnerable kids just like Lucas. Also, through the Gopher Carpentry Workshop, they learn valuable carpentry skills to earn income, build a sustainable career, and leave behind the legacy of poverty.
To keep these amazing programs going, we need to raise $3,000! Your gift of $25, $50, or $100 will give practical skills, spiritual mentorship, and emotional and physical protection to these precious kids.
Before he met Jesus, Lucas felt hopeless and alone. But now, 16-year-old Lucas shared: “I made the decision of serving the Lord because Jesus fills every need I have!” As Lucas finishes high school, he has dreams for a Hopeful future.
Remember, you can step in and help kids like Lucas go from hopeless to Hopeful! And if this program receives full funding, additional resources will support similar strategic projects.
