Did you know that half of the people born on earth today will live in poverty. They need your prayers to find hope in Jesus for today, tomorrow and eternity.
With Christmas Day at our doorstep, we want to thank you for your prayers and generous support of extremely poor families through Bright Hope. Unfortunately, poverty doesn’t take a break at Christmas. So, here are some prayers for the poor that you and your family can share this holiday season.
Prayers for the Poor
“My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and the needy from those who rob them.” ~ Psalm 35:10
Father, we adore you for your powerful work among the poor.
God, we confess we need your heart.
Heavenly Father, thank you for rescuing those in dire poverty.
God, we ask you to show us how we can reach the poor with you.
Prayers for the Countries Where Bright Hope Works
Let’s pray boldly for the extreme poor in Uganda, Bolivia, Kenya, Haiti and Zambia.
Zambia – Ask God to increase safe places for girls in Zambia to live as they attend school, just like He has already done with the Girls Dorm at Kalasa Mukosa High School.
Bolivia – Ask God to expand the JOEL program, which provides educational materials, low-interest college loans, mentoring and spiritual training for impoverished students in Bolivia.
Kenya – Ask God to provide funds for the Natoot Farm expansion. This will enable more families to have an experience of Gods blessings through the farm.
Uganda – Ask God to transform our new partner community of Luuka from one of the poorest districts in eastern Uganda to a hope-filled place with increasing incomes and opportunities.
Haiti – Ask the Lord to provide food security, political peace and safety for our team and sustainable hope to impoverished families in Haiti.
What can you do?
Sometimes it feels overwhelming to think about the desperate needs of the extreme poor. As a result, we may wonder if our gifts and prayers even make a dent in the problem. But for our amazing God, who hung the universe on nothing and holds the oceans in His hands, nothing is impossible. Our loving Father cares deeply about the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of every human being on earth. And He has a special place in His heart for the extreme poor
In conclusion, may this blog inspire you to pray boldly and faithfully for the poor, never underestimating the power of God’s answers to your prayers!
