Phil. 4:19 – “My God will supply every need of yours.”

Impoverished families in Bolivia face trials and difficulties every day. But God is faithful! Just listen to how He provided for Maribel and her family.

Maribel’s two sons attend the Children and Family Center conducted by one of our partner churches in Oruro, Bolivia. Years ago, they lived near the church and heard about the Center. Soon, the whole family joined the church and served faithfully for one year. They loved the church and the community.

The family struggled to make ends meet on Maribel’s husband’s salary as a miner. When their landlord raised the rent for their home, they were forced to move. Sadly, the only place they could afford was far away from the church they had come to love.

Maribel felt so discouraged. Her boys were very happy in church and her family was going through wonderful changes and growing together in the Lord. When she was down, she remembered what she had learned in church—that God is good, and He meets our needs. Armed with these truths, Maribel chose to trust in the Lord and leave all her worries in His hands.

Maribel’s Dream

For years, Maribel had a dream to own her own house. But so far, that dream seemed unreachable. But just as Maribel had learned to trust in God’s love and provision, her sons were also growing in their faith. So, they prayed and trusted that the Lord would fulfil her heart’s wish.

Not long after, Maribel’s husband told her that he had worked hard and secured a new loan to buy some land. Finally, her dream was coming true. Soon, they would begin building their own home.

This brought many changes for the family. For this new project, her husband started working more hours. And she had to start working too. But trouble started when her husband’s job stopped paying. After three months, they ran out of money. They couldn’t even afford to buy food to feed their children.

God’s Provision

When the leaders from the church heard about Maribel’s family, they visited them and brought food and money. The pastor and the Children and Family Center leader prayed for them and reminded them the church would always be their home and God was always looking after them. The day of their visit happened to be Maribel’s birthday, and the gift of encouragement she received was all she could have asked for. She thanked the Lord for His love and provision.

With the money they received from the church, they survived until her husband was paid. To show how grateful they were, the entire family decided to help with the construction of the church. They had no money to give to support the ongoing construction of their beloved church, but they had strength and time. Even their elderly parents helped with the construction.

Since they lived very far away from the church, they couldn’t afford the long commute. So, the pastor would pick them up and drive them the church every day. In return, Maribel’s family dedicated all summer break to help in the construction of the church. They constantly pray for the church and the Children and Family Center to grow. In Bolivia, many families like theirs face trouble every day and need to be part of a church that will show them the Lord’s love.

You Can Get Involved

Maribel’s family has experienced God’s faithfulness through His church. And it all began when her sons started attending the Children and Family Center.

Right now, you have an incredible opportunity to make more stories like Maribel’s possible! Bright Hope has ten partner churches in Bolivia just waiting to fund Children & Family Centers.

Children and Family Centers are a beacon of hope for kids and parents in Bolivia. Please pray that God would expand the number of Centers across Bolivia and consider how you can get involved.
